Founder and CEO: Angela L. Wilson Walker-Retired Elementary School Teacher-recognized the need for non-academic and non-sports related affordable after school youth programs that are fun and exciting and have far reaching benefits.
Our Values: We are dedicated to providing a community service, through instruction, performance and outreach opportunities for youth in grades 1st through 9th willing to commit to the rigorous training, discipline, practice, and performance schedule of the Huntsville Community Drumline
Our Mission: To provide a positive community based activity and provide leadership opportunities that will provide participants with the competitive edge needed to win college scholarships.
Purpose: Huntsville Community Drumline Inc will:
· create a safe, educational environment for youth
· develop musical skills through an art form that may otherwise be unaffordable,
· develop leadership skills,
· develop a sense of commitment
· establish a positive mentoring relationship between youth through the arts
· increase self esteem and self empowerment by providing opportunities to perform throughout the community
· develop a sense of ownership and responsibility
· develop self respect and respect of others through training and discipline
Objective: For each Huntsville Community Drumline member to develop the percussion and leadership skills necessary to start and manage his/her own Drumline
